Deconstruction

In using Jacques methods for deconstruction we assesed the text as a group talking about which areas we wanted  to isolate as signifiers that we could undermine meanings, like keys to unlock doors taking them further, exploring the possibilities from the image Renoir has produced. We looked at the areas that visually were interesting in the text. These included women and how they are portrayed, relationships and how they connect in contemporary society, fashion and the definition of urban enviroments. We noticed that the women in this text are all similar in facial characteristics, dress and positioning in the piece. We looked at back ground and the idea that the back ground in the piece is a space that has always been empty since the text was first created. We discussed relationships and the nature of gender and sexuality in contemporary society and its role in Parisian culture in the late 19th century.
