Ending the project

The final outcome base was placed on the wall ready to select the frames and images.

Images that were not selected but which were tested:

The following images were chosen from a selection taken focusing on cafe culture, within a contemporary setting which echoed but also contrasted the 1870's either by the positioning or content of the photographs.

 

 

 

Placing on the frame was difficult and we took our time to move them around testing thier order but we eventually chose the following composition.

On a suggestion from Jill we fitted a mirror to the piece. We felt this really helped dismantle the living room feel the frames gave. The mirror also added a question to the piece it demanded the viewer address thier own connection within the piece in a sense becoming part of both the artwork and framed their response, in keeping with the victorian beliefs of art being kept within a frame.
